Shahid Khan Afridi will be the captain of Galle Gladiators in LPL 2020
Before the start of the tournament on November 26, the Sri Lankan Premier League (LPL) is not cutting the frustration. Apart from many other cricketers, Kamran Akmal withdrew his name from LPL 2020 tournament. But in the midst of so much good news. Shahid Afridi will captain Galle Gladiators in the upcoming LPL 2020.
Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed has withdrawn from the LPL due to his tour of New Zealand for the national team. Sarfaraz was scheduled to play for the Pakistan-owned franchise Galle Gladiators. If all went well, the captaincy of the team would be in his hands.
But that is not happening at the moment. As a result, Galle has to find a new captain. The Gladiators have named another Pakistani star, Shahid Afridi, as their captain in place of Sarfaraz. At the same time, the franchise has announced the name of Vanuka Rajapaksa as the co-captain.
The Galle Gladiators authorities confirmed the matter in a statement. Shahid Afridi will arrive in Lanka Island on November 23. At the end of the three-day quarantine, he will captain the team from the opening match on November 28.
