Alan Border is not happy about hosting the IPL 2020 instead of the  T20 World Cup 2020

The cancellation of the T20 World Cup in October-November has opened the door for the BCCI to host the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Indian Cricket Board successfully organized the IPL in the Emirates. However, Aussie legend Alan Border is not happy about hosting the IPL instead of the World Cup.

He claimed that the franchise T20 league is only a way to fill the pockets of cricketers. All the cricketing nations are facing financial losses due to the absence of the World Cup this year. And if not for the IPL, the BCCI would have suffered a loss of around Tk 4,000 crore. The BCCI was more anxious to organize the IPL than the World Cup to avoid that loss.

Many cricket analysts say the World Cup has been postponed because of India. Former Australia captain Alan Border has said the same thing after the 13th edition of the IPL. He told ABC that the World Cup should have been given priority over the IPL. If the T20 World Cup cannot be held in an epidemic, then there should be no IPL. It has been decided to organize IPL due to financial reasons. I am not happy about this. In that case, cricketing nations should not send their cricketers to the IPL.
