Australia has come to Bangladesh with all the difficult conditions on the issue of health security. However, the five-match T20 series will not be televised in Australia. However, in the history of cricket in the country, there are many instances where last-minute TV broadcasts have been confirmed. As a result, Aussie viewers are still optimistic, but in the end, if nothing else, the Bangladeshi YouTube channel is the only hope.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as the host team has sold the TV broadcasting rights. The game will be shown on three Bangladeshi channels, official BTV and private Gazi TV, and T-Sports. There is also the BCB-run RabbitholeBD YouTube channel.
However, with the first T20 today (August 3) ahead, no Australian company has yet bought the rights to broadcast TV. Only 6 hours left to start the game. A report from Cricket Australia says that for the first time since 2016, no match of Australia’s overseas tour will be telecast in Australia unless an agreement is finally reached.
Meanwhile, Foxtel has recently signed a last-minute deal with Cricket Australia. The same thing happened on the last West Indies tour. However, this time even 6 hours before the start of the match, there is a hint of something that has not been finalized.
The last time Australian viewers watched an Australian international cricket match on TV was in 2016. Australia was scheduled to play a warm-up match against the United Arab Emirates ahead of the series against Pakistan. However, with the consent of the two boards at the last minute, the match got international recognition. Everything happened so fast that no organization got a chance to show the match.
Cricket Australia has already traced the RabbitholeBD YouTube channel in a report that something like this is going to happen this time. There is no better option than to watch the first T20 in Australia starting at 7 pm today.
