BCCI Appointed MPL Sports as the official kit sponsor for the Indian cricket team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed MPL Sports as the official kit sponsor for the Indian cricket team. The men’s, women’s, and under-19 cricket teams will wear their designed and manufactured jerseys on a three-year contract. The BCCI on Tuesday finalized the contract with MPL Sports. MPL (Mobile Premier League) is currently the largest e-sports platform in India.

The BCCI will have a contract with the MPL from November 2020 to December 2023. The Indian cricket team will use the jerseys produced by the MPL through the tour of Australia.

Apart from jerseys, MPL Sports will also sell licensed merchandise for the Indian team. They will sell Indian team jerseys and merchandise at affordable prices to supporters.

BCCI secretary Joy Shah said, “The MPL’s contract with the Indian team created a new trend. We are very happy to be working with a new Indian brand like MPL. We believe that through this agreement they will provide high quality jerseys and merchandise to Indian supporters around the world.

BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly said, “We are very happy to have the MPL as the kit sponsor of the Indian team. The deal with them opened new horizons in the development of Indian cricket. They will work with the Indian men’s and women’s teams until 2023. The team’s new kits and licensed merchandise will easily reach millions of Indian fans around the world.

On the other hand, Abhishek Madhavan, Marketing Head, MPL, said, “Jerseys and merchandise have a huge impact on the Indian market. We hope to work with the BCCI to deliver the Indian team content to the fans at an affordable price. We are proud to be committed to the work of the Indian cricket team.
