The board will talk to Dhoni about this, according to a press release quoting an official of the board. In the words of the official, ‘We (BCCI) will talk to Dhoni in the middle of the IPL. Dhoni has abruptly retired without informing anyone.
“We would like to know from him whether the last match will be played as a (Dhoni) series or a match,” he said. But whether Dhoni wants it or not, the board must make great preparations to organize a splendid farewell match for a cricketer like him.
However, there is a thought that Dhoni will not wear the country’s jersey again after retiring. In that case, the board can honor Dhoni by organizing a special match.
