Chris Donaldson has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders
This year’s IPL will be held in the United Arab Emirates on September 19. The Kolkata Knight Riders added an Olympic runner to the coaching staff at the event. Former Olympian Chris Donaldson has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders camp as a strength and conditioning coach.
It is learned that the conditioning coach is currently conducting a ‘bedroom workout routine’ for the cricketers in the UAE through group video calls. Donaldson has long been known to Kolkata head coach Brendon McCullum. He thinks that even if he stays away from cricket for a long time, it will be appropriate for the cricketers under Donaldson to play fitness.
“The boys are getting to know him,” McCallum said. He let me do some very hard workouts, which everyone has to do. These are quite difficult. If you don’t work out for a few days, it will be very difficult to adjust.
Donaldson represented New Zealand at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics. In addition to the Olympics, he competed in the 1996 and 2008 Commonwealth Games. The strength and conditioning coach also holds the New Zealand national record in the 4x100m relay.
