Cricket Australia Announced Central Contract List For 2021-22 Season

Cricket Australia (CA) has released a list of central contracts for the 2021-22 season, excluding a number of star cricketers. However, the number of newcomers to the announced list is less, only one. Pace bowling all-rounder Cameron Green has been named in the contract for the first time in the 2021-22 season.

Australia’s central contract for the 2020-21 season was 20 cricketers. This time it has been reduced to 16 people. Travis Head, Matthew Wade, Joe Burns, and Mitchell Marsh have been dropped from the new contract. Cameron Green is the only new face out of four.

There are only three Test specialists in the new season contract; Steven Smith, David Warner, and Marnus Labushan. Regarding the central deal, the team’s chief selector Trevor Hans said he wanted positive competition among the team’s players. Which will be further enhanced through this.

According to a press release from Cricket Australia, the new central contract is based on the performance of the previous 12 months. The national selection panel has selected the candidates to represent Australia for next year. Who will represent England in the Home Ashes series and in the T20 World Cup in India?
