Dhoni himself did not want to leave the field
IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla has claimed that Dhoni himself did not want to leave the field. As a result, there is no possibility of organizing a match to bid farewell to Dhoni.
“Dhoni has never asked the BCCI to arrange a farewell match for him,” Rajiv Shukla told ANI. Since he himself did not come up with such a thing, there is no question of organizing such a match.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of India’s most successful captains, has not chosen the traditional path of saying goodbye to international cricket. Not with a farewell match or an official statement, but with an emotional video post on Instagram in his own style, Captain Cool ended.
Though Dhoni did not say goodbye to the field, the BCCI should organize a farewell match for him. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Saran has already made a formal application to the board.
It is to be mentioned that on the evening of August 15, Dhoni posted a video on his Instagram with pictures of different times of his career and announced his departure in the caption. Dhoni, who has had great success as a batsman and wicket-keeper in his 16-year international career, has surpassed everything as a captain. Besides winning all the events of the ICC, India is ranked No. 1 in the Test rankings.
