England to tour Pakistan after 16 years for Four Days
The last time England went to Pakistan was in 2005 to play three Tests and five ODIs. Pakistan has been in exile in international cricket since the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore. However, the situation has improved. The cricketing environment is slowly returning to the country. This time the England team has agreed to go on a tour of Pakistan. That too for only four days. After 16 years, the English are going to play a short format series in the country in October next year.
Before the T20 World Cup in India, the two teams will engage in a two-match T20 series. Originally, a few days ago, Corona went on a tour of England. In return, England has agreed to visit Pakistan.
The series was scheduled to take place in January next year. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said it would not send a first-tier team there. Because at that time the main team of England will go to play the series in Sri Lanka, later India is also going to play the series. Also, some star players were supposed to play in different franchise leagues.
Although initially agreed to, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) later withdrew. According to their commentary, the ECB will send ‘C’ team in the series. There will be no original in the series. Pakistan is not willing to play against them. So the series was thought to be postponed, the next series may be held before the T20 World Cup.
This time the matter was officially confirmed. England will visit Pakistan in mid-October 2021. However, despite a three-match series, one match has been reduced. Pakistan and England will meet in two matches on October 14 and 15, 2021 in Karachi. Earlier, the British will set foot in Karachi on October 12. England is scheduled to leave Pakistan on October 16.
