England won the three-match T20 series against Australia
England beat Australia by 7 wickets in the second T20 match on the back of Joss Butler’s formidable half-century. At the same time, England won a three-match T20 series win against Australia at home with one match left.
Australia decided to bat first after winning the toss in Southampton. They scored 156 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Finch scored a maximum of 40 runs for the team. Stoinis scored 35, Maxwell 28, and Aston Eger 23.
David Warner could not open the book. Steve Smith was run out for just 10 runs. Jordan took 2 wickets and Archer, Wood and Adil Rashid took 1 wicket each. Batting in reply, England reached the target effortlessly. They lost 4 wickets in 16.5 overs and picked up the required 156 runs. Jose Butler remained unbeaten on 7 off 54 balls. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. David Malan scored 42 runs.
