All IPL Teams Strength and Weakness Analysis

The last time due to Covid-19 IPL 13 was hosted in the United Arab Emirates, but this time the 14th edition of the IPL is going to be on Indian soil. However, due to the Corona epidemic, the game will be played in only 6 stadiums, there will be no home-away system. Chris Morris has been sold at the highest price in the history of IPL in this auction.

Mumbai Indians (2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020 champions)

Last place position: Champion

Last year’s champions are still in contention for the title. Everyone’s role in each position of the batting order is as clear as ever, with a strong pace lineup. Test bowlers Chahar and Krunal Pandya are in the middle of the innings to stop the run; There is no change in the design of Mumbai’s victory again.

Instead, Jaspreet Bumrah and Trent Bolt have been joined by T20 specialist Adam Milon, while Nathan Coulter-Nile has returned to the side. They have even tightened the bench by adding James Neesham to the team. Though there is talk of Arjun Tendulkar, the age-based cricket record speaks for him.

Delhi Capitals

Last season Location: runners-up

Rishav Pant, who is also the youngest captain of the tournament. Last year’s finalists are strong enough again. Smith, Billings, Karan, and Umesh Yadav have been associated with the regular faces of the last event.

Although he did not do very well in the last edition, Prithvi Shaw was at the peak of his form in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, setting a record of highest runs in one edition.

Coach Ricky Ponting is expecting a run from his bat in this year’s IPL. There may not be too many people in the top order not betting on their play-offs again if more franchises are not wasted.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (2017 Champion)

Last season position: Play-off (3rd)

They had to fill only three vacancies in the auction. Although Mujib has played well in the IPL before, the question remains as to how much of his role will be in the team as Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi are in the same role in this team.

However, Mitchell Marsh’s injury has come to the fore, replacing Jason Roy. David Warner, Johnny Bairstow, Kane Williamson were already strong top order, with the arrival of Roy, Hyderabad’s top order has probably become the strongest.

However, the gap in their death bowling was not filled again. If Kumar is fit throughout the season, it may not be a headache. If the foreigners take the storm in the top order and maintain its form in the just-concluded India-England series, it can be assumed that their place in the play-offs will be assured.

Last place in Royal Challengers Bangalore: Play-off (4th)

As always, RCB has not skimped on the auction, adding Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson to the team in huge numbers. “Big Show” has never been able to reciprocate the confidence except in the 2014 edition, but Virat Kohli is confident that he will keep the reflection of the form he is in in the IPL this time. Death bowling is their main concern like every time.

Chris Morris, Umesh Yadav, and Isuru Udana have been left out but they have not bought any good domestic pacers in the auction. Daniel Christian, who won the Big Bash as captain, may be able to take some comfort in that place.

With the release of Shivam Dubey, they have tightened the middle order with, Rajat Patidar and Mohammad Azharuddin. Coach Mike hopes that Washington Sundar will play his role of a spin bowling all-rounder. Virat Kohli’s regrets over the IPL title could go away in this event if the big numbers of players are on fire.

Kolkata Knight Riders (2012, 2014 Champion)

Position in the last edition: 5th

The Knight Riders could not show continuity at any stage of the last event. However, Shakib Al Hasan was able to make up for the lack of balance in the middle order and bowling in the middle overs. Ben Cutting is a worthy replacement for the injured Andre Russell. Pat Cummins, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishnadar and Vaibhav Aurora, and Venkatesh Iyer have been added to the fast bowling lineup. Varun Chakraborty will be accompanied by IPL spinners Pawan and Harbhajan Singh. All in all, KKR has become a strong contender for the play-offs with a well-balanced team.

Punjab Kings

last season position: 6th

After a great start in the last edition, the team went into the second half and completely lost. So this time they have poured a lot of money behind the foreign players, buying Richardson, the highest wicket-taker of the Big Bash, at a hefty price, along with another young Australian fast bowler, Riley Meredith. It is expected that they will give a worthy company to Mohammad Shami this time.

Lokesh Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, and Chris Gayle have been joined by Malan, the number one batsman in the T20 rankings. The middle-order batting disappointed them last time and this time they have included Shah Rukh Khan in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Last time in the second half, their death bowling was promising, but not in the middle overs, the deficit remained the same. The lack of explosive batsmen in the lower middle-order may hurt the team again.

Chennai Super Kings (2010, 2011, 2016 Champion)

Last Place: 8th

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men had been disappointing. This time the auction was not right for them. After leaving the spinner, Krishnappa has added Gautam to the team at a very high price, along with English spinning all-rounder Moin Ali. If Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Karan are sent up in the batting order, they will be able to use their batting form. However, the team’s reliance on Dhoni and Suresh Raina may still be tomorrow.

Rajasthan Royals (2007 Champion)

Last position: 8th

With the pace attack of Chris Morris, Mustafizur Rahman, and Karthik Tyagi, they don’t have to think much about the place of death bowling, along with Ben Stokes. However, in the middle overs, there is no spinner to hold the run.

Although Kuldeep Yadav is in the team, his declining form may not give them much hope, the fight for a spin will have to be fought by Sreyash Gopal and Rahul Tewatia again. However, if Ben Stokes can maintain his superhuman form, then the newly appointed captain Sanju Samson may not have to worry too much about the playoffs.
