IPL is the biggest tournament after PSL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest tournament in the world after the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Former Pakistan legend Wasim Akram has made such a comment. He has seen his country’s PSL from the front. He has also worked in IPL.

For a long time, he was the bowling consultant of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The former left-arm pacer said this while trying to differentiate between the two tournaments. Wasim’s argument behind this is that there is a lot of investment in this IPL. From there, domestic first-class cricket can be developed with a share of the profits.

Wasim Akram said in a YouTube live, ‘There is a huge gap between IPL and PSL. The difference has multiplied in the last five-six years. IPL is the biggest tournament in the world.

The former Pakistan captain added, “The budget for buying players for each team is around Rs 60-70 crore in Indian currency. It’s twice as big as us. That is why the BCCI can invest in first-class cricket with the profits from the tournament.
