Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma was injured during the just-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed the matter in a statement on Friday.
The statement said, “Ishant has fully recovered from his side strain but has dropped out of the series. It is learned that he is increasing his workload to get fit for the Test match, but the opportunity to play in the next series will come to him very soon. ”

Meanwhile, there is no guarantee that Rohit Sharma, who is continuing his rehabilitation work in the NCA, will return to the Test series. His condition will be assessed on December 11. Then a decision will be made about him.
The four-match Test series will be played from December 16. After the ODI series, the two teams will play in a three-match T20 series. The T20 series will be played on December 4.
