Misbah-ul-Haq wants Younis Khan as a full-time batting coach
Pakistan’s head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has advised PCB and wants to appoint Younis Khan as its full-time batting coach. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Younas Khan as the batting coach for the current tour of England.
According to Pakistani media reports, a PCB source said Misbah had spoken to chief executive Wasim Khan about hiring the former star batsman.
The former batsman has been in the spotlight due to his irritable mood in his playing life, but now the board officials are satisfied with his behavior. The source said, ‘Everyone is satisfied with Younis’ amazingly positive and cheerful demeanor. Although he was known for his flamboyant temperament in his playing career.
Misbah was impressed with Younis’ work during the ongoing tour of England and talked to the board. The source added, “Younis has been appointed as the batting coach of the senior team only for the tour of England. But while working with batsmen in England, Misbah was impressed by his sacrifice and hard work.
In his context, he talked to Wasim Khan (CEO). Younis should be made the batting coach in the long run. Misbah thinks it will only have a positive effect on his former teammates.
Younis Khan, 42, who has scored the most runs and centuries for Pakistan in Tests, said he was enjoying his role as batting coach.
In a recent interview, he said, “There can be nothing more gratifying than watching Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq move forward and break so many records. I am working with the batsmen not only on the technical side but also on the mindset. Because it’s a mental approach that determines whether someone will be a world-class performer. ‘
