MS Dhoni has completely changed the face of Indian cricket
Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq believes former Indian captain MS Dhoni has completely changed the face of Indian cricket.
Dhoni, 39, confirmed his retirement on Instagram on Saturday. Under his leadership, India won all three major ICC tournaments. T20 World Cup in 2007. World Cup in 2011 and Champions Trophy in 2013.
“He’s a big name in Indian cricket, he has served Indian cricket very well. He has all the trophies in his bag. He was such a cool captain on the outside, but on the inside such an aggressive player, ”Misbah told AFP.
Misbah added that he has completely changed the mentality of the Indian team. “One of the biggest I think, the way he changed the approach and above all he accomplished so much for Indian cricket, winning all the major trophies,” he added.
“He was so ‘insightful’ you could say, captain, the way he handled the team, the way he just developed the team and changed the squad to senior players, raised juniors”, he argued.
It should be noted that Dhoni has represented India in all three of the game’s formats. He has played 90 tests, 350 ODI and 98 T20I, scoring 17,266 races since his ODI debut in 2004.
