New Zealand whitewashed the West Indies in the Test Series 2020. Like the first match, the Kiwis won the second match by an innings. On the fourth day of the second Test in Wellington, the hosts lost by an innings and 12 runs. The win lifted New Zealand to the top of the Test rankings for the first time. Their position in the Test Championship points list improved by one step to third.
New Zealand batted before losing the toss in the second Test at the Basin Reserve. They scored 480 runs in the first innings. Henry Nichols scored an impeccable 164 runs. Besides, Neil Wagner remained unbeaten on 6 runs at the end.
In reply, the Windies were bowled out for 131 by Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson. Saudi and Jamison both took 5 wickets each. Jermaine Blackwood fought for the Caribbean only a little.
