Punjab Cricket Association wants Yuvraj Singh Back
The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) wants Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh back, who retired last year, to play the role of player and consultant. An official proposal has already been made to the Yuvraj of Punjab. Although the former star batsman has not yet expressed his opinion.
PCA secretary Puneet Bali told Indian media that he had personally proposed to Yuvraj. The retired cricketer has been advising a number of young players in various ways in recent times. Among them are talented batsmen like Shubman Gill.
“We made the request to Yuvraj five or six days ago,” Puneet Bali told PTI. And we are waiting for his answer. It would be great for Punjab cricket if he plays and at the same time acts as a mentor to others. ‘
Last month, the 36-year-old Yuvraj advised talented Punjab-based players like Shubman Gill, Anmalpreet Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Harpreet Brar. All of them will take part in this year’s IPL to be held in the United Arab Emirates.
Returning to retirement is not an easy task for any former cricketer. Recently, the BCCI introduced a new rule allowing former cricketers to play in foreign leagues. In that case, apart from the Indian national team, he will also have to remove himself from a first-class league like the IPL.
In the process, Yuvraj Singh, who has played 402 international matches for India, has played in two foreign leagues. After retiring from all forms of cricket in India, Yuvraj, who owns nearly 12,000 international runs, took part in Canada’s The Global Twenty20 and Abu Dhabi T20 Leagues.
