Sarfaraz Ahmed withdrew his name from LPL 2020
The opening ceremony of the Lankan Premier League LPL 2020 has yet to take place on the field. Before that, the world’s most famous cricketers are removing themselves from the upcoming event. This time Sarfaraz Ahmed withdrew his name from LPL 2020. The former Pakistan captain was supposed to play in the Gaul Gladiators.
Sarfaraz, who captained Gaul, will be in the England squad for the New Zealand tour. So the wicketkeeper-batsman withdrew from the LPL to take charge of the national team.
Chris Gayle and Liam Plunkett have already withdrawn from the tournament. Caribbean star opener Gayle and English fast bowler Plunkett were to play for the Candy Taskers. The franchise confirmed in a separate tweet on Wednesday night that they would not be playing, but did not give a specific reason.
