Shah Rukh Khan to buy a team in LPL

LPL authorities have invited Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan to buy a team in the Sri Lankan Premier League LPL. The Bollywood star is also owned by IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League CPL.

Though it is scheduled to start from August 26, the first edition of the LPL live streaming will be held in Sri Lanka from November 14 due to strict quarantine rules and conflict with the IPL schedule. A Pakistani has already bought a franchise of the T20 league which is going to start with five franchises.

The Gaul Gladiators in the LPL team are owned by the Pakistan Super League PSL Quetta Gladiators. The team has already announced the name of Shahid Afridi as an icon cricketer.

In addition to the Gaul Gladiators, four other teams will take part in the LPL: Colombo Lions, Dambulla Hawks, Jaffna Cobras, and Candy Taskers. According to the influential Lankan media ‘Newswire’, Shah Rukh Khan was invited to buy a franchise from here.

The final of the 23-match tournament, which started on November 14, will be held on December 6. The matches will be played at Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, and Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
