South Africa is Going to Tour of Ireland in July 2021, After 14 Years

The South African cricket team is touring Ireland after 14 long years. South Africa will tour Ireland in July 2021 to play ODI and T20 series. The Proteas last toured Ireland in June 2006 to play a one-match series.

South Africa will play a three-match ODI and T20 series against the Irish on the tour. Although the two teams have met five times in ODI cricket so far, they have never met in T20.

Commenting on the tour of Ireland, Cricket South Africa (CSA) Director Graeme Smith said: “I would like to thank Ireland for hosting the tour. This visit will mark an important new chapter in our history. Because, in a country that is ahead in world cricket, we will be able to tour for six matches.

Three ODIs will be played on July 11, 13, and 17 in Malahide. Besides, the T20 matches will be held on July 20, 22, and 25 respectively. The first T20 will be held in Malahide and the last two T20 will be held in Stormont.

Cricket Ireland, meanwhile, will host the Netherlands in a three-match series in the 50-over format before facing South Africa. Ireland-Netherlands will meet in the three-match ODI series on June 4, 6, and 9.

Ireland will play Zimbabwe on home soil at the end of the South Africa series. Zimbabwe and Ireland will play a three-match ODI and T20 series. The ODI series will be played in Stormont on August 7, 8, and 11 respectively. The T20 series will be played on August 15, 16, and 20 in Bridi.
