Stokes is not playing in the remaining two Tests
England’s pace-bowling all-rounder Ben Stokes will not be seen in the second and third Tests of the three-match Test series against Pakistan. Ben Stokes is not playing in the remaining two tests against Pakistan due to family reasons. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed the matter on Sunday (August 9).
Stokes’ father Gade was hospitalized in South Africa during a tour of England in December 2019. But now he has recovered and is staying in Christchurch, New Zealand. He will leave England for New Zealand this weekend to see him.
Corona is back in international cricket next time Stokes is in great form. In the three-match Test series against the West Indies, he took 360 runs with the bat and took 9 wickets. He also topped West Indies captain Jason Holder as the best Test all-rounder.
However, Stokes did not do very well in the first Test against Pakistan. He made only 9 runs in two innings of the match. And he took 2 wickets for 11 runs with the ball. However, the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the series by defeating Pakistan by 3 wickets.
The remaining two Tests of the series will be played at Southampton’s Rose Bowl. The remaining two matches will be on August 13 and August 21. The other two Tests will be played in a stadium without spectators like the first Test keeping in mind the health protection.
