Umar Akmal is going to appeal against a reduced 18-month ban
Kamran Akmal confirmed that Umar Akmal is going to appeal against a reduced 18-month ban as he wants to return to the cricket ground as soon as possible.
On his YouTube channel, Kamran praised the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and independent judge Mr. Justice (retired) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar for listening to his brother’s appeal.
“It is a great relief for us to be honest that the ban has been reduced from three years to 1.5 years. Still, it is too long and hard for Umar, since he wants to play cricket as soon as possible, “he said.
“We are consulting with lawyers and our elders before appealing against the 18-month ban. We are not going to give this up anyway, “he added.
Kamran once again stressed that the PCB remained tough in Umar’s case. “Umar should be punished, but no one received such harsh treatment,” he said.
