Wasim Akram is disappointed with Azhar’s captaincy

The visiting Pakistan could not beat England in the first Test of the three-match Test series in Manchester. The hosts defeated Pakistan by 3 wickets thanks to the heroism of Jos Butler and Chris Oakes. Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram is disappointed with the Azhar’s captaincy and has expressed frustration over captain Azhar Ali’s captaincy against England at such a rate.

Pakistan beat England by 26 runs in Manchester. Where the English batting in the second innings as well as the first innings. After losing 5 wickets for 116 runs, Butler and Oakes won by 139 runs. Butler was out for 65 runs but Oaks finished the match with an unbeaten 64 runs.

Wasim Akram is not able to accept such a rate at the last minute even though he has occupied most of the match. Former captain Wasim Akram thinks that Pakistan lost the match due to a strategic mistake of captain Azhar Ali.

He said, ‘There are victories and defeats in the game. But I think our captain (Azhar Ali) made strategic mistakes at different times in the match. This loss is a big blow for the Pakistan cricket team. It is also hurting the cricket-loving people of Pakistan.

“The bowlers have given Oaks a chance to bat comfortably,” he added. The bowlers did not bowl any short balls or try to give any bouncer after the arrival of Oaks. When his partnership with Butler was developing, the ball was not turning. Nothing was going right. But then something different should have been done. But that did not happen. The two easily took the match out of Pakistan.

He thinks Nasim and Shaheen Shah Afridi should have bowled more overs. “Our Nasim can bowl at 90 miles per hour and Shaheen Shah Afridi at 8 miles per hour,” he said. They should have bowled more overs. Whatever the situation, at least 18-20 overs should have been bowled in each innings.
