Jonny Bairstow to miss IPL 2023 due to Ashes Series

Jonny Bairstow has not received a no-objection letter from the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) which means he will miss the IPL 2023 to focus on Ashes. On the other hand, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curren will be with Punjab Kings throughout the tournament.

England star batsman Jonny Bairstow will play for Yorkshire in Division Two of the County Championship. And prepare yourself for the upcoming Ashes. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) did not give Bairstow a No Objection Certificate (NOC) on these issues.

The 2022 IPL season did not go well for Bairstow. He scored only 253 runs in 11 innings in a Punjab Kings jersey. The ECB has allowed all-rounders Liam Livingstone and Sam Curren to play in the IPL despite Bairstow being denied NOC. Besides, one of the remaining foreigners of the Punjab Kings is Kagiso Rabada, King of Sikandar. The T20 league mega tournament IPL is starting on March 31.
