About Versace Perfumery
We are in Reggio di Calabria – in the very south of Italy. In winter, the minimum temperature is 8 degrees (at night), and at 0 degrees, it is said to be a natural disaster and remembered as the winter of the century. Here, the Versace siblings Gianni, Santo, and Donatella grew up.
In 1972, when Coca-Cola appeared in Polish stores, Italian fashion was already the object of desire for the entire western part of Europe. 26-year-old Gianni – the eldest of the siblings – wins the first contract in the capital of fashion – Milan.
In 1974, he created his first author’s collection, and two years later, he invited his brother – Santo to cooperate. In the 1980s, Donatella joins the team.
A genius dies at the hands of a serial killer.
The three of them conquer the world. Their shows attract top fashion critics, and Hollywood stars are eager to show off Versace creations on the red carpet. Everything is led by Gianni – a brilliant and brave designer who is not afraid to break the rules and push the limits.
In 1988, the Cutty Sark Jury named Versace “the most innovative and creative designer in the world. ” In 1993, Gianni received the American Fashion Oscar, which he received from the President of Italy and France.
The good streak was interrupted by a great tragedy. In 1997, Gianni was killed by a serial killer. Donatella takes over as her brother, and from then on she is the main designer of the Versace Fashion House.
